VW Announces Golf Alltrack Pricing and Specs
It’s $27,770 for the S and $33,710 for the top tier SEL Alltrack—VW’s all-wheel-drive wagon with .6-inch additional ground clearance, special off road mode and a hill descent feature. Driver assistance packages are available too. VW took a Golf SportWagen, which will also get AWD, added rugged body cladding, heated seats and other treats to create a vehicle that fits into a niche between two popular Subaru models. Powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged 170-hp four-cylinder mill, the Alltrack comes with VW’s six-speed DSG, an automated manual transmission. Later a six-speed manual will arrive priced at $26,670. The AWD setup can decouple the rear wheels to improve fuel economy. Golf Family’s Two-Side Door Models GoneSpeculation that VW would drop its one-time popular two-door Golf models has been verified. Dealers told the VWCA about this earlier this year. VWoA, however, denied it. When VW announced its 2017 lineup this June, only the two-door GTI in S trim survived. Those shopping for a two-door 2017 GTI, however, couldn’t find them. A VW product specialist recently confirmed that VW won’t offer two-door Golf-branded vehicles for 2017 due to low demand. Those who find two is enough, commence mourning.
