VW and Audi (America) Post June U.S. Sales Up 9.9%VW of America posted a 15% increase in units delivered over June 2016. Year-to-date, the brand delivered 161,238 units up 8.2%. During June, VW sold 2,413 Atlas SUVs. The Jetta continues as VW’s bestseller at 9,999 units up 16%. The Golf SportWagen deliveries more than doubled (includes Alltrack). Tiguan sales were off 43% due to low inventories. Overall, U.S. light-vehicle sales dropped 2.9% in June. Audi of America posted yet another record—sales up 5.3% to 19,416 vehicles. That’s the 78th month of consecutive sales records. Deliveries of the new Q5 led the charge at 4,498. Through the year’s first half, Audi sold 102,971 vehicles. That’s more than any full year prior to 2010. German Deliveries DeclineIn Germany, new-car sales overall declined 3.5%. Market leader VW, posted 5% fewer registrations (60,555), while number three Audi reported sales down 9.4% at 25,153.
