VW April 2017 Sales Lifted by TDI Sales In the U.S., April 2017 vehicle deliveries slipped 4.7%. VW, aided by sales of 3,196 previously unsold diesels--2015 model-year TDIs, posted its sixth straight monthly gain at 27,557 units. Golf SportWagen provided the biggest year-over-year increase (252%) at 3,562 deliveries. Audi Posts Another Monthly RecordAudi posted its 76th consecutive month of gains at 18,711 units or 5.1%. Its Q5 and Q7 crossover sales each rose 22% during April. VW’s incentives were up 14% verses last year at $3,922 per vehicle. Worldwide: VW Group’s First-Quarter Profits Up 40%Meanwhile in Berlin, the Volkswagen Group said its operating profit climbed 40% helped by cost savings at its VW brand. Operating profit is reported at $4.77 billion.
