VWoA Reports February 2019 Sales Off 3.6%, Audi Declines 12.2%
U.S. YoY light vehicle sales nationwide declined 2.9% during February 2019. VW reports a 3.6% drop (25,706). The Tiguan (8,145; -13%) is VW’s top seller. The Jetta sedan (7109; +55%) is second. The Atlas (4,795; +.6%) and Passat (2,097; -31%) follow. The Golf SportWagen (452; -65%) reflects either soft demand or a delay in production of this year’s model. VW sold 1,457 Beetles (+45%)
Audi reports sales down 12.2% (13,560). One big loser was its Q3, a small CUV (120; -93%). Audi is currently rolling a completely new replacement.
VWoA Announces Jetta GLI Pricing—$26,890 MSRP for S Model
VW’s 2019 Jetta GLI sports sedan, which has the GTI’s performance, starts at $26,890 including delivery. The 35th Anniversary Editor starts at $26,995; the Autobahn at $29,195. The DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission costs an additional $800 on any GLI model.
