February 4, 2020 VWoA Switches to Quarterly Sales Reports VWoA and Audi say no sales news is good news. They’ve discontinued monthly sales reports. Both join Ford, GM and FCA who’ve switched to quarterly reports.
VWoA Appoints a New Sales Exec Duncan Movassaghi gets VWoA’s executive vice president of sales and marketing slot. He’s got an engineering degree from Cambridge University; has prior experience at VW Group brand’s Skoda outpost in the UK. He replaces Derick Hatami who departed last August. Werner Eichhorn filled in for Hatami until VWoA promoted Movassaghi.
VWAG Tops Toyota in 2019 Sales Race It’s official. Volkswagen retained its lead as the world’s largest automaker for 2019. VWAG’s record 10.97 million sales bested Toyota (10.74 million vehicles). During 2018, VW edged ahead of Toyota for the annual vehicle sales crown. GM held that title for decades until Toyota snatched it in 2008. Automotive News reports VW’s Tiguan outsold its longtime best-selling Golf during 2019
