Membership in the Volkswagen Club of America is a lot of fun. I know; that's why I've remained a member for 48 years.
What do I see that millions of other VW owners are missing?
Is it the Friends of the Club discounts? The AUTOIST magazine? The cool clothing and other accessories offered in our Club Store?
Maybe it's the camaraderie and all the friendships gained over nearly five decades.
Or the tips - and even hands-on help - received from fellow members who guided me through some pesky VW repairs and even a few restorations. And did I mention literally hundreds of car shows, rallyes, gymkhanas, cruises and tours? The list goes on and on.
My VWCA membership has enabled me to tour the VW Rabbit Plant in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania - not just once, but twice! And to visit the Chattanooga Passat Plant in 2013. How else would I have been able to do that?
I can't imagine what it would be like to have missed all that, so I'm telling all my VW friends.
