VW Displays Golf 4-Motion Alltrack, Chicago Auto Show Press Preview
Feb. 11: With an inch higher ground clearance and all-wheel-drive, the Golf Alltrack promises crossover utility and a car-like driving experience.

Rear cargo capacity looks just as spacious as the two-wheel drive Sportwagen, this pre-production version has optional spare-tire-well stowage bins. An electro-hydraulic system engages the rear wheel drive setup when wheel slip is detected. This ups fuel economy; it’s front-wheel drive until extra traction is summoned. An electronic differential lock manipulates brakes to improve go power, turn in and steering response.
